Accredit Transversal Skills

EU and UNESCO suggest an ecosystem model for validating skills without borders to enable flexible learning progression. To this end, adopting distributed ledger technology (DLT) and open technical standards are best for issuing digital credentials that support data authenticity, portability, interoperability, security, and privacy.

Present Proven Skills

There is an increasing demand for Micro-Credentials, pinpointing skills and competencies, among learners and employers. When issued through DLT, its inherent immutability enables learners to prove their skills match and even share the same company value as requested by employers.

At ValueCred, the learner’s skills and values are described at a granular level with a standard data model. Learners receive personalised feedback on their proven skills in the Learning Report with each Values-based Credential. Technology Explained

Distributed ledger technology (DLT), e.g. Blockchain, uses cryptography to store data securely and accurately. Once data is stored, it becomes immutable. Leveraging the power of Blockchain to make it easy to exchange and verify data anytime, anywhere, in a trusted, decentralised way, in which issuing educational credentials is the primary use case.

Furthermore, with GDPR and EIDAS compliance ensured, a common data model and widely adopted technical standards enable data portability and interoperability, allowing for smooth checks of data authenticity and strengthening trust among learners, employers, and education and training institutions.

EU Digital Identity (EUDI) wallet, an application that let holder store, verify and share personal information across Europe. By complying with EU privacy and cyber security regulations, which protects holders’ privacy, giving them complete control over their VCs and data.

Secure and Authentic

All VCs are cryptographically secured to prevent fraud and data breaches. DLT and the encryption mechanisms help verifiers to attest to the authenticity and provenance of the credentials and data.

Privacy and Self-Sovereign

In compliance with GDPR, DLT allows data exchange in a privacy-preserving way with no personal data stored on the registries. Through a mix of credentials, holders can flexibly present their identities.
